Our Certificate in People Management is a 12 month programme focused on building your skills in both operational and strategic areas as well as grow your knowledge of management models, tools and techniques.
Over the Certificate you will complete online learning modules with on the job assignments, case studies, quizzes and assessments. The programme also involves rating your achievement level from the start to the finish and mapping your skills and experience. The content is based on the best-

What will you finish with?
The Certificate in People Management is different from tertiary study as you need to be working in a role where you can apply what you’re learning, rather than covering theory.
You’ll work through case studies and review your own workplace practices so that you get as much experience as you can, to deliver effectively in real life. Once you’ve completed your final assessment you will be awarded your certificate.
Elephant Certificates are now recognised globally, in New Zealand, Australia, the Pacific Islands, Singapore, Malaysia, Canada, the US and United Kingdom.

You can start your Certificate on the following dates (or for groups you can pick your date):

The registration fee is $1,295 + GST per person. There is a 10% discount for NFP’s. If you are registering 3 or more people, then registration is $995 + GST per person.

Clever Communications
Understanding different communication styles, and how to adapt and engage your team is fundamental to being a great people manager. This modules takes you through how to do just that.
Holidays Act & Leave
Making sure you manage your team taking time off (holidays, sick leave and other types of leave) in line with legislation and your company policies is essential to managing a team.
Perfect Performance Reviews
If you want to complete performance reviews effectively, this workshop covers how to avoid the traps and make review conversations engaging. processes.
Employment Law and offering employment
Learn about key employment law, clauses and policies for when you are offering someone a role in your team, to make sure you comply and can answer questions correctly.
Hiring Right
Ever hired someone who seemed good in an interview but not on the job? This module takes you through what to do when you need to recruit new people for your team.
Me as a Manager
Discover your management style and strengths, areas to develop and how to build credibility with your team and overcome key management challenges.
Developing and motivating
your team
This module gives you tools for assessing your teams training needs and helping grow their skills. You’ll also cover how to do remuneration and reward the right way and build engagement.
Courageous Conversations
If one of your team is not meeting expectations and you want to find out how to turn performance around, this module will help! It will take you through performance plans, giving feedback to avoid tears and getting courageous conversations right.
Optional Modules
As well as the core modules, you need to choose 3 optional modules from the following:
Taming Time
Do you find that you always have too much to do and not enough time? Or your team are complaining about this too? You can’t add more hours into the day, but you can be clever about how you use the time you have by choosing this module.
Leading Change
This module takes you through using specific change tools with a case study so that you are fully prepared to drive change
High Performance
Teams
This module takes you through understanding the team stages, and tools and techniques you can use to take your team to the highest level.
Performance Coaching
Whether with your own team, or if you are helping others in the business, understanding and using the principles and models of performance coaching can be very valuable.
Health and Safety
All managers should understand their company health and safety processes. If you have extra responsibilities or work in a higher risk industry, this module will give you a more in depth understanding.
Induction and Orientation
What can you do as a manager to get new employees up to speed quickly and effectively? This module takes you through both operational processes and new ideas to induct new team members.
I’m Warning You
If you need to work through a disciplinary process with your team, this module takes you through the legal steps, how to comply wit h your process and treat employees fairly.
Restructuring and Redundancy
If you are part of leading a restructure, you need to make sure that you understand employment law legislation so your company complies and you treat employees in good faith.
Diversity and Inclusion
This module focuses on how to build diversity and inclusion in your team including understanding unconscious bias, cultural and other differences and what inclusion really is.
Founded in New Zealand in 2006 by Angela and Fraser Atkins, we always had big plans for elephant! We developed and refined our programmes over time then in 2016 we went global. We’ve never looked back and develop all our programmes this way.
